An Adventurous Time All Around
May 20, 1976<p class="plain">Sorry this is late. Troubles with late nights, internet problems and my dad leaving for Indonesia with us forgetting too kept me from writing this.</p><div class="plain"> Gwangju,Korea<br> The week started out with our tired brains. When we arrived at the SOUL/INCHEON airport we got on a train to another terminal to be picked up by our bus to Gwangju. The train stopped at our stop but that's not what we suspected. We suspected it to keep going like in Atlanta. So we huddled in a corner for the other people to get on at the other side. Little did we know that this train makes only one stop!! Finally the security guard motioned for us to get off.</div><div class="plain"> When we got to our bus my dad got confused on which bus to get on so he loaded all, repeat, ALL of our of our luggage on the wrong bus:IF AT FIRST YOU DO NOT SUCCEED TRY TRY AGAIN and that's exactly what we did. But we got it right this time.</div><div class="plain"> This week was fun but it was also a learning experience. No teams showed up on Saturday but we learned how to do it next time.</div><div class="plain"><br></div><div class="plain">Rizal, Laguna</div><div class="plain"><br></div><div class="plain"> We went with the High School students from LBBCA to a Christian camp in Rizal, Laguna (Rizal is a town in the province of Laguna). The camp focus was leadership. They had: a very cool water slide, two pools, a long rope bridge, a place to feed fish and AMERICAN FOOD!!</div><div class="plain"><br></div><div class="plain">Manila, Philippines and Jakarta, Indonesia</div><div class="plain"><br></div><div class="plain"> My dad went to Indonesia to speak to pastors from all over the islands there. The response was remarkable, by the power of the Holy Spirit all the pastors (30+) wanted to do a tournament!! In fact they fought over who was to do a tournament first, literally:Pastor Showdown!! That was a bit exaggerated but it was quite the opposite of Korea.</div><div class="plain"> We did home school at Lighthouse Bible Believer's Church. One day before my dad left we were invited to our friend's birthday party. We thought we'd walk. WRONG. We rode a trike (a mode of transportation which is a motorcycle combined with a cab) out of the neighborhood. We went to a store to buy ice cream then to his house, just me, my brother, Seth, Lester and Diego (the birthday boy) at Lester's house.</div><div class="plain"><br></div><div class="plain"> Thank you for your prayers. The day this was written was starting the end of a minor typhoon. We leave Sunday evening for China. Thanks again for your prayers!!</div><div class="plain"><br></div><div class="plain"> Your Friend, </div><div class="plain"> Hayden M. Washer</div><p class="plain"></p>
